A Chinese man surnamed Yang survived a 72 hours trapped in his snow-covered car in North China without any food in his car. His trick to surviving: always keep a tire inflator in your car.

As heavy snow blanketed some parts in North China, several drivers and passengers were reported stuck in the snow. So did the 50-year-old. He was found in a forest in Heilongjiang Province yesterday. Temperatures dropped as low as minus 23 degrees.
Yang was trapped in his car when he was on his way to his nephews home on Wednesday morning. "I was about to attend my nephews wedding about 70 kilometers away from my house. When I drove through a forest, I had a flat tire accidently. I tried to boost my horsepower and kept on driving, but my vehicle did not work anymore."
In the forest, there was no signal, so that Mr. Yang could not even call for help. In first 24 hours, he tried to stay warm under a blanket in the back seat of the car, waiting for some pass-by to help him out.
"To survive the ordeal, I ate snow for water and stayed in my car all the time to conserve energy."said Yang.
When asked if he was upset at that time, Yang said No because while the snow was continuing to pile up around him, the first thing he remember was not to panic, otherwise, he would consume more energy due to anxious mood. "Keep assuring yourself that you can make it through this crisis as long as you remain clear headed."
After 68 hours of waiting, Yang found a man walking towards him. It seemed the man did not notice him. He caught the mans attention by continuously hitting on his car door to make noise sound.
The man finally found him. The man surnamed Chu was a convenience shop owner 50 meters away. Yang then bought a portable Tire Inflator Tool 100 PSI from Chu. Chu helped him to fixe his tire and showed him how to go out the forest.
Yang arrived home yesterday.
